He has extensive international work experience in multicultural environments in Colombia, the United States and Spain.
Javier is a rigorous and approachable teacher who puts great effort into making students aware of the importance of developing linguistic and social skills in the business environment, as a basis for developing successful international relationships on a personal and professional level.
Their previous experience is of great value for students to learn the ins and outs of communicating in English in international markets.
The importance of English to compete in the international market
International trade is fascinating, due to the international mobility of products and services, which has been an ancient activity and has evolved throughout history.
Now in the 21st century, with the use of ICTs and globalization, the world has become smaller, distances have been reduced and digitization connects us with anyone on the planet.
To be a good professional in the area of international trade, a series of technical skills are needed, such as mastery of computers, electronic devices, and both basic and specialized programs.
Language skills are also necessary, especially the English language specialized in this area , since it is the universal language that is handled in the world when doing business between multinationals.
The acronyms, international protocols, documentation and manuals are in English. For this reason, at Campus Cámara FP we are teaching the technical language that a professional of tomorrow needs to master.
The English language is part of the training to progress as a professional in a multicultural environment such as the business world.
Learning the basic structures is the beginning that the student must master, but this is only the beginning, the training and learning of the language must be specialized with the terms and vocabulary required by the profession.
More and more companies are requesting candidates with high levels of English and that is where the student must prepare to be part of an increasingly competitive job market.
How to master a language? learn by practicing
After having finished my studies in Business Administration in Colombia and the United States, I began to work in an American multinational where I understood the importance of improving my level of English , which at that time was basic.
Every day I saw how the products came from China in large quantities. Stacked on pallets and stored in our warehouse where they were catalogued, stored and distributed to stores in the country.
At that moment I realized the multitude of professionals of different nationalities that made it possible for these products to travel from one end of the world to the other.
The amount of information that these processes needed and the multitude of languages used in their execution led me to realize the importance of mastering a language to grow in the business hierarchy .
The tool that helped me the most to progress within the company was learning the technical language involved in each of these processes. The specialization of the English language that I acquired over the years and continuous practice opened the door to new opportunities within the company. organization.
Skills needed for a business professional
As a professional and with experience in the world of international trade, I must emphasize the importance that soft-skills teach you to develop in this area.
I would have liked to have had the opportunity to have learned them during my university days as they are being worked on at Campus Cámara FP.
Communication, teamwork or creativity involves generating possible solutions so that the team knows that you are a proactive person who works for the company’s objectives, prepared to face the challenges that arise at work , and that you are capable of managing the stress and pressure that this profession demands.
It is now that students who are training at Campus Cámara FP should take advantage of the opportunity offered by the faculty, which has a group of professionals trained in different areas and with international experience.
